The team process at Getty spanned several departments. UI Designers worked directly with business analysts, business owners, developers from many different disciplines, project managers and QA engineers. There were times when it was also necessary for us to step into one of those roles in addition to our own duties. |

Sitemap (Getty Images)
This is a single page from a much larger set of sitemaps used for one of Getty's internal tools. It is one method of giving each page an ID, showing a basic idea of elements on each page, and displaying visually how each page relates to the others. It is also an excellent team management tool going forward if you have multiple team members working on the same site and more than one workstream may cross on a particular page. Sitemaps were done in Visio and often involved mutliple sheets. |

Wireframe (Getty Images)
In this case, wireframes were used for pure information architecture without the distractions of graphic elements. These wireframes were for planning a form and for planning the contents of a couple of search results views. These examples were done in Visio, but I also occasionally created the wireframes in Photoshop, especially those that needed more graphical elements. |

Training Web Site (Catapult) Catapult, an IBM subsidiary, was one of the world's premier training companies. However, as the economy changed in 2000, training budgets were cut or eliminated in many companies around the world. IBM decided to bring all training in-house, and Catapult closed its doors. At this point, I had served as their webmaster, writing marketing and technical copy for the site, designing ads, implementing new technolgies, and supporting and training the sales force in how they could leverage the site to better serve their clients between classes. The site was an enormous amount of content and required a good sense of organization, usability and accessibility.

Farm Web Site (MidKnight Run)
The owner of MidKnight Run needed to advertise her boarding and training services, as well as some horses she was selling on commission for other breeders. |
