What are naalbinding needles? Naalbinding (pronounced "nahl-bin-ding") is a type of fiber art similar to knitting or crochet that produces a single-thread fabric rather than a woven fabric. Because it tends to be fairly thick and dense, it is ideal for mittens, hats, socks, and even sweaters and scarves. These needles can also be used for tapestry weaving.
The needles we carry are approximately 6" and 4" long, with some slight variation as they are handmade. The black needles are made from horn, and the white needles are bone.
