Blog and Education Center
As many of you know, we love to educate. So many people have never seen spinning, have never met a sheep, or thought about the truth behind fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty or Rumpelstiltskin. We talk about them all day at events and festivals, but why limit it to only those who can come and see us in person?

Meet Our Sheep: Cotton
Posted posthumously. RIP, Cotton: January 27, 2025 Cotton had been going downhill for a while. He had lost a number of teeth and was simply getting old. He passed in his sleep overnight, in his usual space in the stall, surrounded by the flock. Cotton was such a personality. He was our summertime dinner bell, coming around to find us in a window and bellowing that it was time to go in. His fleece had a distinctive spicy scent that was unique to him. He was also the first shee

Meet Our Sheep: Dodger
Special note for photosensitive users: There is an animated GIF at the bottom of this post showing Dodger's movement. It may or may not be enough to set off a reaction. RIP, little guy: June 26, 2021 We lost Dodger during a terrible heat wave. Meet Our Sheep: Madame
RIP, grand dam: October 30, 2025 Madame left on her own terms. At 13 years of age, she had been struggling with severe arthritis for a few years. She got regular pain medication, and we always said that as long as she stood up and wanted to be a sheep, we would keep her comfortable. At some point on her last day, she walked to the far corner of the lower pasture where the sheep sometimes spend their siesta time, and laid down to rest permanently. Farewell, old girl. We miss y
